Can you believe it has been TWO YEARS since I posted the original cape scarf DIY? Wow, does time fly! I remember when I first posted this DIY, I was shocked at how positively people responded to it. Sure, I love what I make (or I wouldn’t be making it). But you just never know how other people are going to receive it.
Some posts you think are awesome, and you hear crickets. And some posts you think are ok, and they end up going viral. The cape scarf was one of those. Sure, I loved it…but I was honored and touched when it turned out that you loved it too <3.
Since then I have made 3 different versions of the beloved Cape Scarf. With Fall around the corner, I thought it might be nice to see them all in one place. The cape scarf is a scarf and blanket it one, and I find myself wearing them all of the time in these ‘layered clothing’ months. They are great for early morning soccer games, when the temperature is unpredictable. They are perfect for date night, when the air gets cooler. They are great for just that extra little cover up when you need it – you aren’t quite ready to wear a jacket, but you might need a little extra something to keep the chill off. The cape scarf is your gal. It is a fantastically easy sew, and looks super chic in the right fabric! I love mine, my kids love theirs, and I am thinking it might be just about time to sew up some more this Season.
