While searching the mighty interwebs for Valentine’s Day card ideas, I realized I never posted this one from last year on my blog. Previously seen last Valentine’s Day at Jo-Ann Fabric & Craft Store Creative Spark blog, so today we are simply bringing it home. Hopefully these easy printable coloring pages will help some of you parents out there who are doing like me today…searching Pinterest and Google images for the perfect (and cheap) Valentine’s Day card ideas :)…
*And to answer your question…I simply ordered pink and red crayons from Amazon. Did you know you can order a full box of only one color crayon? You can, and it was awesome!

Coloring books are all the rage lately, and can you blame us? It was our favorite past time growing up – we didn’t have Pinterest to browse for ‘indoor activity’ ideas when we were kids. We had the local playground, and lots and lots and lots of coloring books. So when my kids were recently given a ‘color-by-number’ page at church, I simply had to smile. I LOVED THOSE!!! Which got me thinking…how fun would it be to make cute and simple color-by-number Valentines Day cards for my kids?
An easy, budget friendly Valentine’s Day card that would not only be candy/allergy free, but would also give my kids an activity that they love!

MATERIALS:
- Paper (plain white or craft paper)

- Scissors

INSTRUCTIONS:
To start, right click on the image below and save to your computer. Print out on plain paper, or one sided craft paper.
Next, we will turn the coloring page into a card by folding the paper so that it can hold the 2 crayons needed for these coloring pages.
How to fold make a paper crayon holder:
Step One – Place your paper so that it is portrait format. If you are using plain white paper, have the coloring page laying face down. If using one-sided craft paper, have the coloring page facing up.
Step Two – Fold ⅓ of the paper in towards the middle. Press.
Step Three – Fold the other ⅓ edge in towards the middle. Press.
Step Four – Fold the ¼ bottom of the paper up towards the middle. Press
Step Five – Fold the top of the paper towards the middle, and tuck inside the bottom fold.
Step Six – Slip crayons inside the fold.
Use washi tape to secure crayons in place, and write your To / From on the card in your desired location. Kids of all ages will love this Valentine! And you will love how easy it was to make. All you need is red and pink crayons, and you are all set.
