I know I am showing you the splash proof or water resistant iPad / iPhone case here. But I am way more excited about what is in the background of this picture.
DO YOU SEE THAT PEOPLE?!!!
That is the beginning stages of what will be our backyard pool when completed. So please, pardon me as I yippeekiyay and yeehaw while jumping into pineapple shaped floats all summer long! Lol – woot woot!
Ok, officially, we are still well under way with the construction. Sawdust is absolutely everywhere, and I am busy cleaning or scraping grout off my brand new pool stairs daily. But in the meantime while I wait, ever so un-patiently, I am trying to prepare for a Summer filled with fun by doing what I do best…sewing. What thou sews, thou shall reap. (Spelled wrong in purpose to prove a point – lol.) And as for me and my house, we are planning to reap a Summer filled with fun. 🙂
Splash Proof iPad / iPhone case

- 1/2 yard oilcloth
- 1/2 yard woven fabric
- Cotton batting or fleece
- Binder clips
- 2-inch piece of velcro
- Coordinating thread
- Fabric scissors
- Heavy-duty universal point sewing needle

FABRIC SEEN IN ABOVE PHOTOS:
Purchased from Oilcloth Alley, after receiving a comment on my Fabric Shops you Oughta Know post that tipped me off to this wonderful store specializing in all things oilcloth :). If you are ever looking for new fabric shops, check out that post – as well as the comments section! So much great input there.
*Don’t like sewing with oilcloth because it can be ‘sticky’ on the bottom of your presser foot? This DIY is sewn in such a way, so that the oilcloth is never directly against the bottom of the presser foot! A great beginner friendly oilcloth sewing project.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and until next time…
