Cowl neck sweatshirts are kind of like my uniform all Fall / Winter long. They get worn, washed, and immediately worn again the next day. Lol – I’m not kidding though. For real.
Okay…..maaaybe I will wear a good ole plaid shirt to mix it up a bit now and then. But when I am not wearing plaid, I am in these.
Wait, wait, wait – I love to wear my dolman top tunic dresses too. Ok, so every Tuesday, Thursday, and on the weekends I am in this sweatshirt. At least.
Unless I am wearing plain jeans and a tee, then I am in that. Or maybe I didn’t get changed out of my jogging pants all day long. Okay, so, the first and fifteenth of every month – I am wearing this sweatshirt. I promise. Lol
Either way, you’ll love it.

This is awesome. Thanks for taking the time to put this together and share it with the world!
Omg it’s so great!! I just bought the most gorgeous gray striped french terry…it will be perfect for this!
Thank you!! This will be GREAT for me & my DD, who lives in Montana, this Christmas!! Thinking about taking my sewing machine up there, don’t know yet if I’m flying or driving. I may just have to get an inexpensive one while there!
endlich keine hand-einschübe die aufliegen oder so besch…-kaputzen
vielen dank für dieses tolle teil…
Hi Jess,
I’m in love with your patterns. I just made a few versions of the Trapeze dress. I’ll be posting them next weekend! 🙂
Thanks!
M
Thank you for the free pattern. I can’t wait to get started on it.
Thank you for the free pattern. This is just what I need traveling. Thanks again, I will sew it up today.
I think I need to try this. My local Quilt Shop is now carry knit and other garment fabric. Plus one staff person can help with any problem I might have. Thanks x 100
Thank you so much! Now for some French Terry for me and my daughter!
Love it! Just wondering if you could tell me what brand of jersey knit you used on this sweatshirt? I’m loving the stripes!
Oh so awesome! Thanks so much!
I love this! Thank you!
I love it!!!… Thank you 😀
Merci beaucoup ! It’s great ! Will try and find time to sew it before winter !
merci pour le patron
Bonjour je n’arrive pas à télécharger? ce patron est super
Pouvez vous m’aider. Merci
I love this sweatshirt. I cannot find the striped sweatshirt material. Is it by chance the striped jersey material?
This is so great! Thanks so much for sharing. As an aside, I want to live on your front porch 🙂
Love the cowl neck. Thanks for your generous free pattern.
Val
Thank you so much for the free pattern! I am excited to try this. Does the cowl go on the head like a hood as well? Or is it just called a “hoodie”?
Thank you so much for your generosity to share this pattern!
I just finished my first go and it turned out great! This is going to be my favorite sweater pattern.
Love, love, love it!
I just love this! I can’t wait to give it a go! Looks so comfy and cozy for the winter! Thanks for sharing it!!!!!
ohhh gracias lo probare
Herzlichen Dank für das tolle Schnittmuster. Du hast eine sehr schöne Seite, die ich mir nun öfter ansehen werde 🙂
Made this with heavy gray fleece…. Love it. Lots of compliments. Thank you so much for the pattern. That fleece was difficult to sew… Next one will be a lighter knit… But yes there will be a next one!!!
A very quick question! On the sizing chart you go up to XXL but on the finished measurements and the fabric requirements you only go up to XL. Is here any difference? Should the charts go up to XXL?
That you for any assistance as I would need the XXL.
Wendy
P.S. Super pattern!
Thank you so much for sharing !
I’m not very good in English and absolute beginner in sewing, I know it’s going to be a hard task, but I’m gonna try this sweatshirt right away !
I’ll send you a picture if I manage to make a nice sweater.
Thank you for this lovely pattern, this is exactly what I was looking for! I’m intending to make it very simple, black sweat fabric, but to decorate it with badminton shuttlecocks, my favorite sport, made in white thermobonding (is that the right word?) – sorry for my English! Cécile from Bordeaux, France.
Thank you for the free pattern. I love this and just made a fabulous version you can see on PatternReview.
This is really a fantastic pattern and fit. I’ve made two of these so far—there will be more. I refashioned an XXL men’s black sweatshirt (from the Goodwill) using this pattern and, today, I cut up an off-white jersey fleece bedsheet (also from the Goodwill) to create another. (I love up-cycling and reusing cast-offs.)
Thank you for sharing this pattern!
Thanks for the pattern, I love the cowl 🙂
love, love, love this… sewed mine up in red microfleece and have been wearing it ever since! Thanks so much for this free pattern. My local sew club is going to use it as our monthly sew for November. I can’t wait to make another one then.
thank you so much for your pattern. I love it.
thank you so much for this!!!! this is my first pattern printing from online. i love your tutorial, so easy and clear! I love how your pattern comes with step by step instructions alongside pictures!
I am now wearing my first one of these that I’ve run up this evening having spent the last few weeks sewing for everyone else.
I don’t know if I’m ever going to take it off. Well maybe I’ll make some light ones for summer as this is fleece backed Jersey. Thank you for such a fab pattern x
Oh my gosh! How generous of you to provide free patterns! My current obsession is hoodies, and cowl necks! Now I can combine them, can’t wait to sew this one up!
Thanks again! I love your blog!!
Hmmmm….it’s very cute but wondering if I could possibly add a zipper to it?
Thanks for this awesome pattern! I’ve made 5 so far, and making probably 4 more. https://www.instagram.com/p/BdPEOpolRXsGDoUG6rnSo0qGzEUx9NskdBfthE0/?taken-by=akmerfylou
Thank you so much for the free pattern. Made one this evening and LOVE it.
Your sweatshirt was my very first attempt at a garment, and it turned out so well thanks to your instructions! The pattern itself is really a staple, I’ve been linking everyone to it since I first found it last year. Thank you so much for your work, it has helped me and a bunch of others dive into sewing and make something they love!
Oh merci beaucoup pour ce patron ! Je parle mal l’anglais, mais je vais tout de même tenter de le coudre ! 😉
Thank you so much for this – I chanced on it whilst searching for a pattern for a top that would let me use some leftover fleece, and this was perfect. I now have a lovely cropped warm top with a fleece body and satin neck and sleeves. Fabulous, thank you.
Made this fabulous top this afternoon. Love it. So easy and love the slouchy fit. My daughter wants one and I want more. Thank you.
