This Summer, we are traveling. A LOT.
You could call it a dream, a life goal, or a bucket list. But my husband and I have always seen ourselves traveling all around the world, for the rest of our lives. Traveling is a passion of ours, and we mean to live that dream. This Summer we have a wedding in Ireland, and vacations planned for New York, London, and Hawaii. Next Summer…we dream of RVing all over the United States and Canada for 2 months. And who knows what we will do beyond that, perhaps Europe in ’17. But we plan on doing it now, WITH our family while the kids are still young. Making lifelong memories while we can – because it has come to our attention recently that we only have them for so much longer, until they are all grown up and doing their own thing.
Over the next couple of weeks I will try to post photos of our travels here on the blog. Handmade in New York, London & Ireland.
But as of now…we are officially, ON VACATION!!
Woot woot.
July Travel Plans
So let’s DO THIS.
And by the way, I know it can be hard to sometimes look at other people’s photos of traveling when you feel like you do not have the same opportunities. I am a FIRM BELIEVER that you do not need to go far, to enjoy much. Sometimes the best enjoyment is in your backyard with a sprinkler and glass of wine. I am making the most of the time spent at HOME this Summer as well – spending every available night at the beach, daytimes in the lake swimming with the neighbor kids, visiting the aquarium and library, going fishing, and camping when possible. It does not take a lot of money, to make memories that last a lifetime. It simply takes a little bit of effort, throwing cleanliness and organization out the window, and a whole lot of fun.
They are only young once.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and until next time…
Happy Sewing!
Wow, that sound like a lot fun! I hope you’ll have the most amazing time. I, too, believe that there is no reason to not travel with kids as long as one adjusts sight-seeing etc. to their interests. We try to visit a new country in Europe almost every year to get to know new places. However, again and again we also have to go back to just a beach in Italy and enjoy some time together. We’ll do so this september and are already looking forward to it!
That sounds amazing!! I hope you all have a blast!! Ireland is one of my favorite places in the planet. I studied in Cork for a bit while I was in college, and my husband and I went to Donegal and Dublin for our honeymoon. I can’t wait to see what you do in London! It is one of my top cities that I want to visit. My parents made sure we traveled quite a bit in the US when my brothers and I were younger. In lieu of piles of Christmas and birthday presents, we would get two or three things we wanted/needed, and they took the rest of what they would have spent to take us on trips across the country. Those are memories and experiences I will keep forever! (Unlike the Barbie doll that was played with and forgotten within the month…)
Looking forward to your posts and bon voyage!
