It is my dream to visit garage sales some day….to spend hours of time leisurely strolling vintage treasures every month. Hours and hours of time, pouring over one person’s junk to make it my treasure. As anyone can tell you – garage sales with kids in tow does NOT make for a pleasant experience. So that dream is alive and well for future goals. But in the meantime, whenever my husband and I are by ourselves, and we happen to spot an awesome looking garage sale…we always stop.
This time, it was my husband’s lucky day. He called me to FaceTime over these vintage chairs the owner had hidden in the back. Did I want them? You already know the answer to that.
Heck yeah.
I have never met a chair I didn’t love. Since that day, this chair has sat in our garage until I found the perfect fabric for it. I knew I wanted something geometric to offset the floral design. A blend of modern and vintage, that would truly give it my stamp of personality.
Make this Look: Recovered Vintage Chair.
Little known fact, I actually LOVE to recover furniture. I am talking nails and hammer, deconstructing, all-day-back-breaking-work furniture. These projects turn into beloved furniture for our home, that I will never ever ever ever part with. There is just something about working hard for something, that makes you cherish it all the more – scratches and all. Am I right?
MAKE THIS LOOK:

And while I know it is hard finding the perfect vintage pieces for your home. I do know that with a little patience, you will always find incredible pieces at the right garage sales. It’s just a matter of time. Or in our case, FaceTime.
Did you know Minted sells fabric now?
Yeah…it is pretty amazing. The same artists that create beautiful designs for the cards and stationary we all know and love, are now making fabric. And it is all sorts of beautiful. Eye candy for the fabric lover. As of now, it is only home decor fabric. Which makes it great for purses, totes, pillows, and of course….home dec projects. Hopefully they will start to incorporate other fabric textiles in the future – because their designs are crazy awesome.

Thank you so much for stopping by, and until next time…
