Liberty of London Sweatshirt

Could this sweatshirt BE any more comfortable?

Have you ‘Sewn the Show’ yet? My good friend Alida of Alida Makes has a fun new monthly series called ‘Sew the Show’. She picks a TV show each month, gives loads of fashion and sewing inspiration to go along with it, and we make what inspires us. This month’s theme was Friends. Naturally, I had to play along.

The One with the Liberty of London Sweatshirt.

Rachel always had the best comfortable clothes, and was often seen in sweats lounging around (usually staring wistfully out of her loft window dreaming about Ross). Let’s be honest, we all wished we had her wardrobe…or her hair. So when I stumbled across this Liberty of London sweatshirt fabric, I knew what needed to be done.

  • Pattern: Self-drafted Raglan Sweatshirt. Similar found HERE on BurdaStyle.

Seriously, did you know Liberty of London had fleece sweatshirt fabric? Neither did I. It was a momentous day in the sewing studio when I found it. I drooled, them impulse purchased, and then anxiously waited by my mailbox until it arrived.

I had a lot of fun making this, including getting over my irrational fear of cutting into this gorgeous fabric to make this look! I am pretty sure I will be wearing this sweatshirt every single day for the remainder of Spring.

Check out what other people are sewing for April’s Sew the Show at Alida Makes HERE. I am so excited to see what TV show she is announcing for May. I love a good themed project.

The sweatshirt pattern you mentioned looks rather different than your gorgeous sweatshirt! Can you please comment on what modifications you would recommend? Thank you!
