Add a name, label, or even a picture to your basket or box using this simple process. A fun afternoon project that will make you wonder…’what else can I embroider?’ Lol – trust me.
How to Embroider a Basket.
Skill Level: Beginner friendly
MATERIALS NEEDED:
- Fabric Cube Basket
- Pencil
- Embroidery Floss
- Darning Needle
- Power Drill
- XSmall Drill Bit
INSTRUCTIONS:
Step One: Using your pencil, lightly sketch your design onto the front of your basket.
If needed, print out your text in your desired size. Copy onto the front of your basket using carbon paper.
Step Two: Using an extra small drill bit, carefully make holes in your design spaced evenly about 3/16” apart.
Step Three: Thread your darning needle with the embroidery floss, tying a knot at the end.
Step Four: Sew simple embroidery back stitches, starting at one end of your design working your way to the other side. Thread the needle through all of your drilled holes.
And you are done!
You can embroider wooden baskets, metal baskets, buckets, and more – all you need is the right drill bit!
