*Please note: finished stocking will be approximately 12″W x 18.5″ L. For smaller stocking, simply scale the pattern when printing to your desired size (70%, 80%, 90%, etc.).
HOW TO:
STEP ONE: Cut out all pattern pieces as specified.
STEP TWO: Fold Stocking Loop in half right sides together, and pin outer long edge. Sew.
Turn loop right side out using a safety pin or fabric turner, press.
Fold loop so that the raw edges meet at the bottom and pin together. Baste stitch to secure.
STEP THREE: Place stocking lining right sides together and pin around all side edges. Leave a 5″ opening along the back side edge for turning later. (Do not pin top edge, leave that open).
Before sewing, insert loop into the upper edge of the stocking – about 3″ down from the top edge. The raw loop edges should be sticking out of the back of the stocking, and the loop should be encased within. Sew all around.
STEP FOUR: Place exterior stocking right sides together, pin and sew all around the side edges, leaving the top open. Trim seam allowance, and turn sequin stocking right side out.
STEP FIVE: Slip lining over the exterior, so that they are right sides together. Match up side seams and top of stocking. Pin around the top and sew.
STEP SIX: Turn stocking right side out through the opening in the lining, and whipstitch opening closed.
Push lining inside of stocking, fold down the top of the stocking and you are finished!
Thanks so much for stopping by, and until next time…
Happy Sewing!
