This past week I had the chance to finally sew the infamous Knight Hoodie sewing pattern by Elisa of Charming Doodle. The Knight Hoodie is part of this month’s 3 sewing pattern’s that every Pattern Member gets automatically just for being a part of the site! With Elisa guest posting on the Pattern Member website, talking all about her inspiration for the pattern – I thought it was high time I made one myself.
I don’t sew for Ben nearly enough, gah – he is so stinking cute.
With the spurt of warm weather we’ve had the past few days, I chose to turn my Knight Hoodie into a vest. I also wanted to add a fun element to the hood, and switched out the cool knight points for some more whimsical dreads. I talk about how to do that on the Pattern Member site, it is really quite simple.
The Knight Hoodie is truly a fabulous pattern to work with, and came together quite simply. When I first looked at it, I thought it would take days to sew together. Looks are definitely deceiving, because this was done in just a few hours!
I used a double sided fleece for my hoodie, bought at my local fabric store. Which means it can technically be turned inside out if I happen to like the look of exposed seams. I also flat felled all of my seams for an added touch of professionalism.
All in all, I love it!
