Guess who turns 35 today?
I know it seams silly, but I really cannot believe it. How did this happen? How am I a 35 year old mother with 3 children running around? I remember when 35 seemed so old. Now that I am here, I feel as young as ever.
I feel wonderful, full of life and energy. In an exciting place in my life, surrounded by the joy and love of my family. My children are crazy most of the time, but it is in that chaos that I find true life happening. We are living out LOUD.
35 feels incredible!
I have recently made concerted efforts to find more work / life balance. I am passionate about sewing and blogging, but I am even more passionate about my family. And as the loss of time starts to become more of a reality, I know that I don’t want to blink and miss it. I may be 35, but my eldest daughter just turned 7. Tell me, how did THAT happen? Wasn’t it just yesterday that I was welcoming her into the world?
A few precious years, that is all we really have when it comes to the innocence of our children. When you are the number one person they look to, the end all and know all. After that, the outside world becomes more and more of an influence. I don’t want to miss the moments when my kids look to me with eyes full of wonder and questions.
So as the Sewing Rabbit gains success, I have found the need for boundaries in my life. I no longer work in the evenings or on weekends, unless absolutely necessary. Those belong solely to my family.
Sure, there are lots of times when I feel like this…
How did those wrinkles get there? Am I starting to look like Jamie Lee Curtis? Do I need to start drinking Activia?
But most of the time, I feel like this…
35 is going to be awesome. Just wait til you see what I have in store for you this year…eek!
I still laugh at my own jokes, and of course every joke my husband makes. His sense of humor is one of the main reasons I fell in love with him. I absolutely love to laugh, loudly.
And I am still living a life of improvement. Always learning, and making new goals.
My husband and I will be attending a marriage conference together in early November, because you can always find new ways to better love and understand your partner.
I am also still trying to improve my photography and graphic design skills, as well as learn new video editing software. In fact my husband bought me a MAC for my birthday present – I am making the switch from PC! Petrified, but excited!!
And I am pretty sure I make this face at least once every day from something my kids have done…
Luckily, I am pretty sure every other mother out there makes that face as well. Today it was made when my middle child fell off a stool. Yikes!
Life is good. And I am blessed to have reached another year, surrounded by family and friends. With a passion, and gift from God to pursue.
To commemorate the occasion, I made myself a new cover up. I really wanted a new comfy sweater / sweatshirt, something I could throw on as it gets cooler and still feel like a woman.
