Meet the Sewing Rabbit 2013 Team!

MeetTheTeam

I am so very excited to announce the new Sewing Rabbit Team for 2013! There were so many application e-mails to sort through, and I loved going through each and every one of them. Narrowing it down was tough, you ladies have some serious talent! Thank you so much to everyone who submitted an application. I loved getting to know you better, it was my honor and pleasure.

So, are you ready to meet the new Sewing Rabbit Team for 2013?!! I know you are going to love getting to know them just as much as I did.

2013 Sewing Rabbit Creative Team

jenblog I’m Jen, and I’m half of the crafty team behind the blog Eat. Sleep. Make.

My sister-in-law, Shannon, and I justify our crafting obsession by sharing tutorials for everything from fashion to recipes, home decor and sewing on our blog. While I love to dabble in pretty much any creative medium, sewing is my first love. Well, technically making and selling plastic lanyards to my neighbors was my first love, but I was seven then and thankfully my creativity has matured since.

I first discovered my love of sewing over five years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter. Soon thereafter, my husband bought me my first sewing machine and I’ve been in love ever since. When I’m not playing chauffeur to my two kiddos, you can find me behind my sewing machine. I’m thrilled to be here sharing alongside such a talented group of ladies!

Celina Bailey Celina is the lovely and talented creator behind the fantastic children’s fashion blog Petit a Petit and Family.

Celina was born in England, then moved to Morocco and has now been in living in Montreal, Quebec since the age of 5. This might explain her eclectic tastes, from vintage to modern, from quirky to classic. Her particular passion for children’s design dates from when she first studied fashion design, almost 12 years ago. Since then, she has worked in the fashion industry, started her own kid’s label and has had a children’s boutique.

Now, she is a working mom of 2, wife to an amazing husband who goes along with all of her crazy projects, and in her spare time she loves to makes things for her kids or blogs. She also contributes to Babyccino’s blog, is the Creative Director behind Novalee Magazine and is seriously addicted to Pinterest!!!

photo (18) Hello I’m Farrah, author of Mingo and Grace.

My mother taught me to use a sewing machine when I was three. My earliest memories are of me pressing the sewing machine petal while she guided the fabric. Fast forward thirty years and I’m a first time mother of boy/girl twins, frustrated with everything pink and frilly or covered in trucks and dinosaurs (my son actually adores dinosaurs we’ve been trying to get him to stop roaring) I’ve dusted off my sewing machines to create the clothing I could not justify paying for or find in stores.

I started blogging because I’m rediscovering my love of sewing and creating. I’m inspired by my mother, my children, beautiful fabrics and all things cool. I hope you will join me in this journey.

Palak Shah HS Hello there! I’m Palak, author behind Make it Handmade.

I am a slightly sleep deprived mom who has loved making things her whole life. I enjoy sewing, knitting and crochet, and have a completely justified fear of hot glue guns. When I’m not chasing after my two rambunctious kids, or sitting behind my sewing machine, I write about my creative exploits at my blog.

Before writing tutorials on the internet; I worked as an engineer where part of my job was documenting technical processes. One of the best parts of blogging is being able to combine my love of creating beautiful things with my love of overly detailed manuals and schematics. I’m thrilled to be part of the Sewing Rabbit Team and look forward to sewing and sharing with you all!

View More: http://katiehellingerphoto.pass.us/sewbon Hello! I’m Erin from Sewbon.

A newlywed living in beautiful Colorado with my handsome husband, precocious standard poodle, and two unruly cats. I’m passionate about sewing, crafting, DIY-ing, traveling, and living life to the fullest! My family is my rock and my biggest support. They even let me dress them up in some of the items I make. Ever seen a poodle in a bowtie and a party hat? It’s beyond adorable!

I started sewing in 2011 after taking an Intro to Sewing Class. After turning a pile of fabric into a useful bag, I was hooked! I got a sewing machine later that year and haven’t stopped sewing since! I just love the feeling of accomplishment that comes with making something with my own hands. Although the creative process is not always easy – I’ve been known to throw my projects to the ground with all the melodramatic flair of a Hollywood starlet – I just can’t get enough!

Vanessa Traylor Head Shot Hi! I’m Vanessa and I write and blog at Designs By Sessa.

Designs by Sessa is my little slice of blog heaven where I design, sew, and share my love of Jesus. Truly, I am a sinner, but am covered by the blood of Christ; a fun loving wife to an amazing husband; a mom to the sweetest little boy; and a friend to whomever I meet! More than anything, I want sewing to be something that blesses and encourages others.

Outside of sewing, you can find me cutting fabric and blogging for a local quilt shop where I work part-time, and cuddling my happy 2 year old!

MieBrindle Hi, my name is Mie Brindle and when I am not guest posting here as part of the Sewing Rabbit Team, I blog at Sewing Like Mad.

I am originally from Denmark, now living in North Carolina for almost five years with my British husband and two girls Wilma and Evelyn (5 & 3).

I have a four year seamstress education from Denmark and the years before moving to the US I had a very small women apparel company where I designed the collections, drafted the patterns, sewed the salesman samples, ran the production in Lithuania, answered the phone, packed the boxed….okay, you get the picture! The classic scenario of lots of work and no profit type of thing…..BUT I learned a lot and I would love to share some of those things with all of you!

So far I have mostly shown girls clothes on my blog but I would love to show more women’s clothes along the way.

Elisa from Charming Doodle Hello! I’m Elisa, the creative force behind CharmingDoodle.com.

A couple years ago, in the middle of a huge house remodel, we had to move out of my house…and into my parents’ for 5 looooong months. Oh, and did I mention I had to do it with my four children…ages 6 months, 1, 3, and 4?! During that crazy time I needed a creative outlet (you know, to keep my sanity) and made a dress for my daughter using my grandma’s ancient Singer sewing machine. I was hooked! Actually, that’s an understatement. I now adventurously tackle new projects (like making my husband a suit, and whipping up all types of kids’ clothes). My goal is to make the people in my life feel cherished and loved because of the care that goes into each piece made specifically for them. I want you to spread that kind of love too. So let’s sew something together!
