Ahhh…the always necessary baby and kids pants. I can’t begin to count how many of these I have sewn up over the years…between Seasonal pajama pants, play clothes pants, nicer wearing pants, the list goes on and on. But the starting off point, the basic pattern remains the same.
If you want to make kids clothes, you will need to know all about pants. And once you have the basic pant pattern down (trust me – after you make your first 5 pair or so – you will know it by heart), these babies take no more than a half an hour to whip up!
Which is why, naturally, I needed to make some for our little baby boy this Summer…
He needed something other than all those knit leggings!
Luckily for us, there are some incredible bloggers out there that have covered the gamut with these, with patterns included, that we can turn to…
Thank you once again Pinterest…
Have I mentioned how much I love
am addicted to that site yet? Lol
Now of course, these are just the basics. You can take this pattern and turn it into almost anything you want to – which is what is so fabulous about it! Go wild with your pockets, extend out the legs for a wide leg, or even belled look! Shorten them for cropped pants or shorts, switch out the fabrics for corduroys or silk, you name it – you can do it! With a little more skill, you can even alter them into overalls, add ruffles to the bottom, and start to learn pin tucking.
Either way, get to you know your pants 🙂
Thanks so much for stopping by, and until next time…Happy Sewing!
