Keeping Those Noggins Protected! Baby Sunhat…

Upon finishing my Bubble Ruffle Dress, I knew it just wasn’t quite complete without a little something extra for those bright sunny days I am anxiously awaiting!

I went through my eldest daughters old hats, and found a nice stained one that fit the bill in sizing and started the deconstruction process…

Nice upgrade from the hand me down, if I do say so myself. The best part are the belted loops that keep the little ribbon in place – I love that!

For your free tutorial and pattern piece to make this 12 Month to 2T Sized Hat, click HERE.

Want it reversible? Simply add belt loops to the inside as well! Makes for a very cute matchy-matchy outfit – lol. Gap would be proud 🙂

Here’s to wishing and hoping and thinking and praying, planning and dreaming each night of Spring’s charms…

Happy Sewing everyone!

A Limited Commercial License is available for purchase for the Baby Sunhat, click below for more details…

That’s a cute little hat..I was just thinking that if you made one with a plain inside you could thread any colour ribbon or a fabric to match any outfit through the loops!

If I make the pattern a little larger do you think it will work for a 4t hat? Or do you have a pattern for 4t? I just came across your blog and LOVE it. I am a very picky mom about what my kids wear but I am heading to the fabric store here soon because now I can’t wait to make these.

Thank you so much Jennifer for your kind words! Unfortunately, I have not tried to make this hat for a larger child’s head – so I am really not sure what would work best. Hats are not my strong point, but you could certainly try! If you do, please let me know how it went! Thank you again – Jessica

YOU didn’t have e-mail notification turned on, so I couldn’t respond to you directly on this…

With Google making changes though in their system, I am getting a lot of this lately – I think it has something to do with Google+ and trying to force people to use it…argh.

The link should work so that anyone who clicks on it goes directly there. Try this though:

The link for the pattern is no longer available. This is so adorable. I have a niece who suffered burns to her face and this will be her first spring/summer outside, needing protection from the sun. This is the cutest hat, and I am sure she would love it!

    Thank you for sharing.
