If you live in America in the Mid to North East region like me, you are probably sitting underneath at least a foot of snow right about now. And baby it’s cold outside!!!
In the midst of all of the snowball fights, hot cocoa, making snowmen and angels, sitting in front of the fireplace, and reveling in our after Christmas glow, I realize just how blessed we are. There is over a foot of snow on the ground and we have a nice roof over our head, heat to warm our bodies, and plenty of left over food to eat.
In the aftermath of Christmas and all of the toy drives, Christmas dinner donations, and other organizations that are so good to help. Often the homeless, or just simple basic needs other than toys for those less fortunate, are forgotten.
You don’t need to know how to sew in order to help! You know how many jackets are hanging in my closet that never get touched? Or jackets my kids have outgrown that I keep around ‘just in case’ we have another one?
Or if you do want to get your craft on and help…look at these no-sew scarves MaryJanes and Galoshes came up with, need a no-sew fleece hat to match? Click HERE. Things that might require a little bit of sewing like mittens can be found HERE. Of course there are no-sew blankets for mothers in need with newborns!
But at a time when all fleece is on sale for at least 50% off, make someone’s new year a warmer one! Visit your local shelter, and see how you can donate!
