I went shopping for jeans this past weekend, and oh my goodness. I forgot how much fun jeans shopping is. I just wanted something comfortable to wear this Fall – not skinny jeans, not boot cut or straight leg, I wanted a pair of awesome ‘boyfriend jeans’. I had yet to give into this jean trend so far. But now it seemed like I was on board with the comfy jean wagon.
You know you are getting older when by the time you get on board with a trend, it is over.
Fleek – I finally figured out what the stupid word means, only to be told by my college-attending friend Alida that is is SO yesterday. Lol.
Apparently the same holds true for boyfriend jeans. Now it is all about the GIRLFRIEND. Girlfriend jeans are a feminine version of the boyfriend jean cut.
‘It’s a more classic fit – tighter and higher on the hip, with a tapered slim straight leg. Made from more ridged denim, the style is more authentic and offers a flattering shape.” – Keda Rich, via Marie Claire
Alrighty then. Let’s try on some girlfriend jeans.
I WAS IN LOVE.
I am not even gonna lie, I wanted to buy them in every distressed color of denim ever created. The only problem? They were freaking sold out everywhere. Like – they don’t even have them on-line. Apparently I was late to the girlfriend jean table, or didn’t get the memo or whatever, and now I am girlfriend-jeanless. Since then, I have scoured the internet to find an Express pair of girlfriend jeans in my size, only to repeatedly be told and emphatic NO.
I am a sad non-girlfriend jean camper. So until I can find a pair to covet and own and wear every single day this Fall, I decided to drool over photos of jeans on the internet. Care to join me?
