It’s that time of year to start thinking about cute springtime dresses! I love this transition time when the weather starts changing from winter to spring. Luckily my daughters prefer to wear dresses over anything else so I have lots of fun this time of year sewing for them. I decided to make a super adorable chambray with crochet lace detail dress to add to their closet.

I absolutely adore this dress! It is the perfect amount of vintage and modern. I decided to make my dress a cute sort of baby doll style with the length. I love the look of short vintage style dresses on little girls. I also decided to add a little crochet lace detail to the front of the dress to try to accent the sloped bodice.
The back of this dress is just as fun as the front! I loved the look of the open collar in the back and decided to just do a one button closure instead of buttons all the way up to the back of the neck. I like the way it accentuates the open collar look.
This pattern comes in sizes 2-6 years and instructions on how to construct it two different ways. One way takes a little longer but leaves you with a beautifully finished dress on both the outside and the inside with fully concealed seams in the bodice. The other way is a faster way which requires a serger. Either way you will have a beautiful end result.
This pattern would make a beautiful Easter dress as well. I can picture it in a floral or maybe an eyelet fabric. I purchased my fabric from Joann’s and found the crochet lace detail from the LA fabric district. There are so many different types of fabrics that will work well with this dress so get to your local fabric store or grab some fabric from your stash and start making some new spring dresses!
Thanks so much for stopping by, and until next time…
