Alright ladies, time to see what you got. For the pattern we were working with the Lazy Day Pajamas by Blank Slate Basics (affiliate link). As we were deciding upon what pattern to work with for the challenge, I started to notice a severe lack of pajamas that fit my children. Had they really grown that much since last Summer?!
After talking with Alida, the Lazy Day Pajamas were chosen.
Character fabric. I know.
I try to steer clear of this aisle when I am fabric shopping with my children, but for pajamas…I let them have their pick. And its always so funny – because it reminds me of who I am sewing for. Whenever I make them things that I personally dislike (costumes, character fabric items, toys) – they flip. My goodness, words cannot even begin to tell you how much they loved these pajamas. The praise I heard.
Getting a photo out of them was another story.
Lesson of the day, do not save picture time until right before bed.
Ok, that last one isn’t so bad. Just majorly forced smiles.
They were having fun though, in between all of their not listening to me at all. One thing they were super excited about was that I let them have their favorite stuffed animals in the photos.
So much so, that Madeline threw a major fit and stomped away until I agreed to take some pictures of Froggy and Greenheart alone. She has had that dog since birth, sleeps with it every single night. It used to be white and pink. Notice it’s name is now greenheart.
Even though my kids were bratty brats – the pajamas were fantastic! I loved working with this pattern, and will definitely be making it again. The fit was right on, there is room for growth, and my kids can run around and play in them (or wiggle around in their sleep), without feeling constricted. They are absolutely perfect. I was pretty proud of myself after I whipped up the two pair – considering I had never made detailed pajamas before. My poor kids, all they usually get are boxers or simple pants. Whipping up this pattern made me feel like I was giving them something fancy, and I loved that.
Handmade with love for the sweetest dreams.
